I know that he who began a good work in you, will bring it to completion in the Day of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Phillipians 1:6)
Dear Friends:
Welcome! I am so glad you have found our web site, and hope that in some way this means the Spirit is working in new ways in your life right now.
I am “the new kid on the block” at God’s Love; I have just begun this team ministry as Senior Pastor. And since my arrival I have been overwhelmed by the gracious welcome which this community of faith has shown to me. I have learned that showing non-judgmental hospitality is a “Lifestyle” here. This is an open, affirming community of people who love Christ, and who try to treat friends and strangers with the same kind of affirming love that Christ has shown to us.
This is a deeply human community of faithful, caring people. We are all forgiven, and that means we are not perfect or “holier than thou.” We struggle to live our daily lives as Christians in a world that is increasingly secular and stressed. We are people of all ages, friends with many lively viewpoints, those who take faith seriously, and those try to show faith more in action than words.
We often listen to the insights of our founder, Martin Luther, because we believe he profoundly challenged the church to live by faith in Christ and not by empty rituals or institutional decrees.
We have a nice variety in the ways we worship God here: some love traditional worship with beautiful classical music and the comfort of words that are familiar each week (Sundays, 8:15 am); some love simplicity and the directness of soft spiritual music and words (Saturdays, 5:30); and some love to be personally moved and to rock to a really good band with an eclectic mix of contemporary music (Sundays, 10:45). New faces are welcomed with open arms…..
We invite you to explore how you might discover and use your spiritual gifts here… We invite you to get to know us more deeply, or simply to come to sit in our prayer garden without announcing your presence to anyone. We invite you to learn with us, or to give of yourself in service. If you are in a time of struggle or trial, I would like to pray for you or to listen to your yearnings. Know that who or whatever you are, you are welcome here.
Yours, In Christ,
Pastor Peter Naschke
